Looking for a savory meal option with less mess? We’ve partnered with our friends @lunchesandlittles to bring you this simple cheeseburger bites recipe that stuffs the best parts of a burger into bite-sized balls!
WHAT YOU NEED⠀
🍔 Olive oil⠀
🍔1/2 Cup diced onion⠀
🍔 3/4 Lb hamburger meat⠀
🍔1/4 Tsp seasoning salt⠀
🍔1/8 Tsp garlic powder⠀
🍔1/4 Cup ketchup⠀
🍔1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce⠀
🍔1 Tbsp water⠀
🍔8 Refrigerated biscuits⠀
🍔1/2 Cup sharp cheddar cheese⠀
🍔2 Egg whites and sesame seeds⠀
Recipe makes approx. 8
👩🏽🍳⠀
HOW YOU MAKE THEM:⠀
🍔 Add a drizzle of oil to the skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent/fragrant.⠀
🍔 Meanwhile, mix beef with seasoning salt and garlic powder. Then add seasoned beef to pan, mixing it in with onion to combine, breaking up as you go.⠀
🍔 Cook thoroughly, allowing beef to sit for a couple of minutes without moving it to crisp it up in some spots.⠀
🍔 Once cooked, drain and return to pan.⠀
🍔 Add in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and water. Stir. Once cooked through/combined, remove from heat and set aside.⠀
🍔 Now, preheat oven to 400 degrees.⠀
🍔 Meanwhile, remove biscuits from can and separate.⠀
🍔 On a lightly floured surface, flatten each biscuit with your hands until you have a good-sized, thinner circle.⠀
🍔 In the center of circle, add a bit of meat mixture, and then cheese.⠀
🍔 Lift dough up from outer edges, lifting over toppings, and pinch together at top (like a Chinese dumpling).⠀
🍔 Flip the ball over, re-shaping as necessary. Repeat until you’ve used all dough.⠀
🍔 Brush egg wash over tops and sides of balls and sprinkle with sesame seeds.⠀
🍔 Arrange balls in a pie plate or other oven-safe dish. ⠀
🍔 Cook 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.⠀
🍔 Once done, remove from oven and serve immediately with ketchup and/or mustard for dipping.
Feel free to offer garnishes like pickles, etc. on the side as well! ⠀
